History of This Wine

Bodegas Avancia Godello is a white wine from the Valdeorras region of Spain. It is made from the Godello grape, which is native to the area and has been cultivated for centuries. The winery was founded in 1998 by two brothers, Juan and Carlos Gil, who wanted to revive the traditional style of winemaking in Valdeorras.

The first vintage of Bodegas Avancia Godello was released in 2000 and since then it has become one of the most sought-after wines from this region. The wine is known for its intense aromas and flavors of ripe stone fruits, citrus, herbs, and minerals.

Notable vintages include 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2004 Bodegas Avancia won a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge in London for their 2004 vintage. In 2011 they were awarded a Silver Medal at the same competition for their 2010 vintage.

In 2013 Bodegas Avancia was named "Winery of the Year" by Spanish magazine Gourmets & Vins de España. This award recognizes excellence in winemaking and innovation within the industry.
