The vineyard was originally planted by William and Mary Bucklin in 1885, and has been owned and operated by the Bucklin family ever since.

The Bucklin family has been making wine from this vineyard for over 130 years, with some of the earliest vintages dating back to the late 1800s. The Old Hill Ranch Ancient Field Blend was first released in 2004, and has become one of the most sought-after wines from Sonoma Valley.
