The winery was founded in 1986 by the Raventós family, who have been making wines in the region for centuries.

The vineyards are located in the Conca del Riu d’Arnoia, an area of outstanding natural beauty with a unique microclimate that is ideal for growing grapes. The soil is composed of limestone and clay, which gives the wine its distinctive minerality.

The first vintage of Raventos I Blanc 'Blanc de Blancs' Espumoso Conca del Riu de Arnoia was released in 1988 and it has since become one of the most popular sparkling wines in Spain. It has won numerous awards over the years, including a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge in 2008 and a Silver Medal at Decanter World Wine Awards in 2009.
