The winery is located on a hillside overlooking the Columbia River and has become one of the most renowned producers of Cabernet Sauvignon in the world.

The first vintage of Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon was released in 1982 and quickly gained recognition for its quality and complexity. Since then, it has consistently earned high scores from critics and won numerous awards, including being named Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year in 2003.

Notable vintages include 1989, 1992, 1997, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2012. The 2009 vintage was particularly noteworthy as it was awarded 100 points by Robert Parker Jr., making it one of only a handful of wines to ever receive this honor.
