Luke Merlot from Wahluke Slope was first produced in 1997 by the Luke family, who have been farming in the area since the early 1900s. The family has been producing wine for over 20 years and is now one of the most respected wineries in Washington State. The Luke Merlot from Wahluke Slope is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah grapes grown on their estate vineyard. The wine has consistently earned high ratings and accolades since its release. Notable vintage years include 2001, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. In 2012, the Luke family was honored with the prestigious “Wine Maker of the Year” award at the Seattle Wine Awards.
