History of This Wine

DVO from Napa Valley is a family-owned winery that was established in the early 1980s by Don and Vicki Othmer. The winery is located in the heart of the Napa Valley, and produces some of the finest wines in California.

The first vintage of DVO was released in 1985, and since then, the winery has become known for its award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Zinfandel, and other varietals. In addition to producing high-quality wines, DVO also focuses on sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Notable vintages include their 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon which won a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition; their 2006 Chardonnay which won a Gold Medal at the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition; and their 2009 Merlot which won a Silver Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

In recent years, DVO has been recognized for its commitment to sustainability with awards such as “Sustainable Winery of the Year” from Wine Enthusiast Magazine (2013) and “Green Winery of the Year” from Napa Valley Vintners (2014).
