History of This Wine

Burn Cottage Pinot Noir is a wine from Central Otago, New Zealand. It was first produced in 2004 by winemaker Clive Jones and his wife Mary-Jeanne Hutchinson. The vineyard is located on the slopes of the Pisa Range in the Cromwell Basin, and it has quickly become one of the most sought-after Pinot Noirs in New Zealand.

The Burn Cottage vineyard was planted with clones 115, 667 and 777 in 2001 and 2002. The first vintage of Burn Cottage Pinot Noir was released in 2004, and since then it has gone on to be highly acclaimed by critics around the world. Notable vintages include 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

In 2013 Burn Cottage was acquired by Montalto Vineyards & Olive Grove, who continue to produce this highly sought-after wine today.
