History of This Wine

Altocedro Malbec Reserva is a wine produced by the Bodega Altocedro winery in Argentina's Mendoza region. The winery was founded in 1998 by brothers Marcelo and Alejandro Vigil, who wanted to create a unique expression of Malbec from their family vineyards.

The Altocedro Malbec Reserva is made from grapes grown in the Uco Valley, one of the most renowned wine regions in Argentina. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with natural yeasts before being aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Notable vintage years include 2009, which was awarded 91 points by Wine Spectator, and 2010, which was awarded 92 points. In 2011, Altocedro won the Best Red Wine award at the International Wine Challenge in London.
