History of This Wine

Quinta do Vesuvio Single Quinta Vintage Port is a vintage port produced by the Symington family, who have been producing wine in Portugal since 1882. The first vintage of Quinta do Vesuvio was released in 1997 and has since become one of the most sought-after vintage ports. It is made from grapes grown on the estate's vineyards located in the Douro Valley, which are planted with traditional Portuguese varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Franca. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented in stainless steel tanks before being aged for two years in oak barrels. The resulting wine is full-bodied and complex with aromas of dark fruits, spices, and chocolate. Notable vintages include 2000, 2003, 2007, 2011, and 2015.
